ON AIR: Sunday Morning – Maroon 5
It’s time for some Italian excellence, after AGL it’s the turn of OOD.
OOD is a young project (2011) and we are honored to support it. The two minds behind the brand (for both men and women) are: Marcello (who worked in the textile industry) and Marta Antonelli (IED graduated). The two talented minds wanted to create a natural sustainable material that could substitute leather. After some tests they created “ligneah” a mixture of wood and cotton.

– When did you start your project and how did you start it?
We started the project in 2011 and showed for the first time the “selected” material at so Critical so Fashion (2012). After our first presentation we have had a positive press feedback and we received several acknowledgments as an innovative startup. OOD, from (W)OOD, was born with another name “ligneah” (that’s the name of the exclusive material we created). I just wanted to show that you can use wood in a fashion way!
– Where does your inspiration come from?
Inspiration always comes from nature. “Ligneah” and the collection take inspiration from patterns, colors and lines that nature offers us. The material was inspired by the python’s skin!
– What materials do you use?
We only use two materials: our “Ligneah” and “Jacroki”, another eco-friendly Italian creation. We are driven by sustainability and cruelty free care.
– What kind of look works better with your creations?
A thought out look: a jeans with embroideries, a simple blouse with a vintage brooch. Who wants to play with our accessories is someone who loves innovation, who doesn’t look for a logo but for real Made in Italy craftsmanship.
– Where can we find your products?
You can buy our products in our online shop (www.ood-italy.it) and here at Ecoliving (here you can find not only fashion but also some good design pieces). And you can also find us at some temporary shop!
– Tell us your plans for the future!
We would like to continue our material-reaserch and finally sell our creations abroad!
p.s: besides using eco-friendly and cruelty-free materials, OOD works in partnerships with Tree Nation: for every sold item a tree is planted and you can follow its growth through a link.
